final E2000

This and That:

Comes with many silicone tips (five pairs) and silicone ear guides but the included storage bag feels cheap (still okay for the price and better than nothing, though).

Decent build quality.
I like the matte black shells.

Proprietary silicone tips that are flexible and designed so that they don't block the front vents.

Cable comparable to that of my Zero Audio Carbo Tenore. Has got a chin slider but lacks proper strain relief integration.

Sound:

Low impedance sources, largest included silicone tips.

Tonality:

Balanced (mild atypical v-shape) slightly heading to the brighter side with bass extension that could be more linear.

Upper bass more present than mid- and sub-bass. The latter is somewhat below neutral in quantity, wherefore I would have ultimately wished for a more linearly extending bass.
Upper bass/lower root elevated by ca. 4 to 5 dB compared to diffuse-field flatness. Slight fundamental range warmth, but no thickness. Elevation starts to climb around 600 Hz and reaches its climax between 100 and 200 Hz (and rolls gradually off below that).

Midrange mostly natural sounding with just slightly lifted upper mids/presence range. Very low voices gain a bit of body due to the mild fundamental range lift.

Treble slightly on the brighter side around 6 kHz as well as 8 kHz. Good super treble extension past 10 kHz.
Treble on the brighter side but not too unnatural or sharp.
Cymbal timbre bit brighter but not annoying or peaky, nonetheless a little more metallic than they should be. Only a tad harsh sounding sometimes.
Good balance between slight brightness and naturalness.

Resolution:

Decent resolution for the price.

Most about similarly priced single-BA in-ears as well as some very good dynamic driver in-ears in this price range (Fostex TE-02, Fidue A65) are even cleaner, more detailed and better separated, nonetheless the final E2000 is more than adequate for its price class and better separated and more resolving than several dynamic driver models in the same price range.

Decent treble definition and separation but not high-quality yet. Still no real criticism for such an inexpensive in-ear with a mild loudness tuning.

The bass is unfortunately on the softer, slower, less controlled side, even for dynamic driver standards, although not as muddy as my SoundMAGIC E10's lows yet.

Really good midrange resolution - definitely the best part of this in-ear in terms of technical performance. Better than most of the stuff in this price range.

Soundstage:

Rather larger and open. Clearly not DUNU Titan 1 kind of openness though.

Slightly leaves the base of my head.
Decent depth and layering.

Rather precise but not razor-sharp imaging yet.

Compared to other Dynamic Driver In-Ears:

final E3000:

Similar accessories.
I prefer the E2000's matte black shells.

E3000 somewhat bassier and thicker sounding. Both extend about equally in the lows (not good but not entirely as bad as the Brainwavz KOEL or B200 v2).
E3000 warmer mids. E2000 brighter upper mids.
E2000 brighter highs, but can be a bit exhausting, too.

E2000 minimally narrower stage. Similar imaging.

Zero Audio Carbo Tenore:

Cable almost identical.
Comparably nice and valuable shells.

Carbo Tenore noticeably bassier in comparison and with a strong sub-bass elevation.
Comparable midrange timbre; Carbo Tenore slightly brighter upper mids.
Highly comparable treble tuning, too.

Carbo Tenore bit tighter, faster bass.
final somewhat to slightly higher mdirange and treble resolution.

Carbo Tenore slightly smaller stage.
Minimally cleaner imaging on the E2000.

Conclusion:

Decent in-ear but could use higher bass extension linearity (there's a roll-off in the midbass and towards the sub-bass) and tightness.
