This and That:
Known as "3.14 Flat", but also sometimes referred to as "PR1".
Comes in a transparent, cylindrical container that contains the earbuds, some foam covers and a shirt clip. No pouch, but that's okay at the low price point.
Interesting choice of a red cable. I like that.
Good strain relief near the 3.5 mm connector.
Could be just a little more supple though. Doesn't have a chin-slider.
Nice looking transparent shells.
Sound:
Low impedance sources, no foam covers.
Tonality:
Dark, warm, full-bodied and smooth sound. Reminds me of a less bassy Koss Porta Pro.
Emphasised midbass, and even a hint of sub-bass. So surprisingly decent extension in the lows for earbuds, with a rather slow roll-off. Still definitely recessed and rolled-off sub-bass though.
About equal bass quantity as my Venture Electronics Monk Plus.
Warm fundamental range that bleeds into the midrange that sounds full and warm. Coloured but still okay.
Dark treble. Somewhat muffled. Smooth and even though.
Good extension past 10 kHz.
Resolution:
Below that of my Apple EarPods, above that of my Venture Electronics Monk Plus and BlackBerry WS-430.
Okay resolution for the price, but not more than that.
Quite fast and tight bass response. Ultimately slightly softer than the Monk Plus though. Tighter than the WS-430.
Average midrange and treble resolution for the price. As mentioned, above the Monk Plus and WS-430, but below the EarPods.
Rather decent separation.
Soundstage:
Nicely airy, open and spacious.
Surprisingly decent imaging precision. Layering a bit less precise than lateral separation.
Conclusion:
Smooth, dark and warm, even sound. Bit muffled though.
Decent resolution and large, open soundstage.
Technical performance below that of my Apple EarPods, but above that of my BlackBerry WS-430, Venture Electronics Monk Plus and the FiiO EM3.
Worth the price.
